Schemes Implemented by Department of Vocational Education and Skill Development, its Achievements are as follows:-

  • 305 Government Industrial Training Institute are Operational in the State, 48 Institutes (women branches) are also Operational. Total training capacity of these Government Industrial Training Institute is 1,21,833.
  • In Academic Session August/September, 2017 in Government Industrial Training Institute, admission process is being completed through State Vocational Training Board (S.C.V.T) against total available maximum seats 1, 15,880.
  • In private Sector, more than 2909 Private Industrial Institute are Established (non-aided) in which total training capacity available is 3,73,971 seats.
  • In last 04 years, training capacity of Government Industrial Training Institute has been expanded and training capacity is increased by more than 60,000 training seats in new and old institutes.
  • In all Government Industrial Training Institutes, e-connectivity facility has been provided.
  • Skill based short time Vocational Training Programs are integrated and started through different programs implemented by 06 departments under U.P. Skill Development Mission. U.P. Skill Development Mission since its inception till date has given admission to approximately 5.25 lakh. Out of total trainees admitted, 3.96 lakh has been trained and awarded with Efficiency Certificate and 1.05 lakh youth has been connected with employment/self-employment.
  • To ensure un-interrupted power supply in 20 Government Industrial Training Institute of the state, solar power plant of 4o KW has been established and made operational.
  • 135 IT lab and 220 smart class room has been established for improvement in quality of training in Government Industrial Training Institutes.
  • Training arrangement has been strengthened by providing free dress and books through book bank to trainees in all Government Industrial Training Institute in the state.
  • Implementation of this scheme is being done through Apprentice Training Scheme via portal in the form of National Apprentice Promotion Scheme (NAPS) with the objective to provide vocational training to youths of the state by engaging maximum youths in industry.
  • Government Industrial Training Institute, Saket, Meerut and Karaundi, Varanasi are being developed as Model I.T.I.
  • The government has ensured participation by signing M.O.U with prestigious industries/business organizations viz., NTPC, Bharat Electronics Limited, Meja Energy, Reliance Power, Tata Motors, Maruti-Suzuki, Toyota Enfield etc. to impart knowledge of different vocational skill used in industries to trainees participating in ITI.
